The Skool alternative built for educators
Keep the community and courses. Add the teaching and the admin.
ClassQuill is a Skool alternative for educators who teach, not just host. Like Skool, it has a community feed, self-paced courses with drip release and a calendar. It adds a shared whiteboard in live calls, 1:1 scheduling, invoices drafted from sessions and auto-marked homework, with a 0% platform fee (Stripe fees apply).
The core of what you use on Skool
Feed, self-paced courses, calendar and members. That's the core, not every Skool feature: the table further down shows what we don't have.

A community feed in every classroom
Post updates, files and announcements; members reply and like. Pin a post, mark it an announcement, or lock a thread once it's resolved. Staff start threads in a classroom.
What Skool doesn't do
Skool includes unlimited live calls on both plans. What it isn't built for is the teaching and the admin around them.
A shared whiteboard inside the live call
ClassQuill's video is built in, and the whiteboard sits in the same session, so you and your learners work the problem through on one board.
1:1 scheduling with booking requests
Set your weekly hours once. Families request a free slot from your booking link, the request waits in your Requests until you confirm it, and double-bookings are blocked.
Invoices drafted from your sessions
Completed sessions become draft invoices you review and send. Parents pay by card from the invoice once you connect Stripe, or by PayID or bank transfer with a reference code that you mark paid.
Homework that marks itself
Set practice from a curriculum-aligned question bank. Typed answers are marked the moment a learner saves, and a wrong one can be sent on to their tutor.
Progress reports parents can read
Reports are drafted from the sessions a learner attended and the homework they handed in. You review and publish, and parents read them in their own login.
Live classes and self-paced courses, in the same classroom
Any classroom can release its lessons on a drip schedule, with prerequisites so learners take them in order. Or run it live, with sessions on the calendar and built-in video. Either way the classroom keeps the same feed, members and files.
What Skool's fees cost you
Skool adds a transaction fee to its subscription. ClassQuill's platform fee is 0%. We count Stripe's card fee by default so the comparison is fair; switch card payments off to see families paying by bank transfer, which is free.
Families pay by card through your Stripe account (1.65% + A$0.30, ClassQuill adds 0%). Off: they pay by bank transfer and there's no fee.

At US$2,000/mo, ClassQuill costs US$84/mo less than Skool Pro, the cheaper Skool plan for you.
Skool's percentage already covers card processing, and Skool members always pay by card. ClassQuill charges a 0% platform fee, but Stripe still charges for card payments, so with payments in ClassQuill on we add Stripe's fee on our side. Against Skool Pro, one tutor savesUS$79 a month on the subscription, plus 1.25% of revenue (Pro's 2.9% against Stripe's 1.65%), less Stripe's A$0.30 fixed fee on each card payment.
Card payments in ClassQuill are optional. Families can always pay invoices by PayID or bank transfer for free, and you mark them paid; that is what switching the toggle off shows. Skool prices as of October 2026 (skool.com/pricing).

We won't promise a one-click import. We haven't confirmed what Skool lets you export, and we'd rather say so now than find out halfway through your move.
Migration help is available on request. Tell us how your community is set up and we'll help you plan the move: which classrooms to create, how to rebuild your courses with drip release, and how to invite your members. Keep Skool running until you're ready to switch it off.
ClassQuill vs Skool: common questions
How much does Skool charge per transaction?
As of October 2026, Skool's Hobby plan is US$9 a month plus a 10% transaction fee, and Pro is US$99 a month plus 2.9% (skool.com/pricing). Some third-party guides also report US$0.30 per transaction, which Skool's own pricing page doesn't show.
Is there a Skool alternative with no platform fee?
ClassQuill charges a 0% platform fee (Stripe fees apply). It costs US$20 a month for the first tutor and US$6 for each additional tutor, with unlimited students. Skool's percentage includes card processing, so against Skool Pro the saving is roughly flat, about US$79 a month for one tutor, not a percentage.
Does ClassQuill have levels and leaderboards like Skool?
No. ClassQuill has no levels, points or leaderboard, and no public directory for discovering communities. If gamification is what keeps your members engaged, Skool does that and we don't.
Does ClassQuill have live calls like Skool?
Yes. Both include live calls. ClassQuill's video is built in (Daily.co), with a shared whiteboard in the same session, and sessions can be booked 1:1 or run as a class from the calendar.
Can members post in the community?
Members can reply to and like posts. In a ClassQuill classroom, starting a new thread is staff-only today, while on Skool any member can post. Staff can pin a post, mark it as an announcement or lock a thread.
Can I take card payments through ClassQuill?
Yes, and it's optional. Connect your Stripe account and families get a Pay by card button on their invoices (ClassQuill adds no platform fee, and Stripe's own card fees apply). Families can always pay by PayID or bank transfer with a reference code instead, for free, and you mark the invoice paid.
