Front-office operations
Teach 'n Go runs the front office of an academy well — scheduling, attendance, invoicing, online payments and a parent portal, proven across 55+ countries — and it offers client self-booking, which ClassQuill (staff-scheduled today) doesn't yet. ClassQuill covers the same front-office ground with one shared calendar for every tutor, room and class, recurring sessions set once, and quick rebooking that keeps everyone informed. On bookings and attendance the two are close; the separation opens up around getting paid and, more sharply, around teaching.
Payroll, video and Australian rails
Teach 'n Go handles invoicing and online payments, but it leaves out things a tutoring company running a team needs: tutor payroll and its own video. ClassQuill pays tutors via Stripe Connect from the sessions they actually ran, runs online lessons on its own built-in video (not a separate Zoom subscription), drafts invoices on session completion, and syncs to Xero — with PayID, GST and Basiq handled on local rails. For an AU academy paying its own tutors, that's a meaningful amount Teach 'n Go simply doesn't do.
"LMS" as notes vs a real learning platform
Teach 'n Go describes an LMS, but in practice it's student notes and progress-sharing — a place to record and pass along information, not a place to teach. ClassQuill's learning platform is where the teaching happens: a curriculum-aligned, vetted question bank your tutors assign from, homework auto-marked with free-form working reviewed by the tutor, and timed exam mode with mock SACs. The distinction is doing versus documenting — Teach 'n Go documents around the lesson; ClassQuill contains it.
Proof that students are learning
Notes and a parent portal share what happened; they don't measure whether it worked. Because ClassQuill captures marked work, it reports on it: per-student topic mastery, early warning on students who are slipping, and per-tutor quality analytics for owners — with parent-ready reports generated automatically from that data. Teach 'n Go's parent portal keeps parents informed, but the underlying learning outcomes aren't measured, because the marking never happens inside it.
